An implant involves a process of placing a surgical fixture into the jawbone which then fuses to the bone over a few months. The implant acts as the roots of the missing tooth. No. There are no medications or other substances that are used to impair you from being able to drive.

Should I get a bridge or an implant?
There are pros and cons to both. Implants are considered more of a permanent solution whereas, depending on care, bridges may need to be replaced in the future. Consult with Dr. Murdock or Dr. Sutton to decide the best option for you.

What should I expect for a normal recovery?

• You will be sore around the implant area for up to 2 weeks after the surgery.
• There will be swelling and possible bruising on the face.
• Sometimes there will be a little numbness that can last a few weeks. If it does not wear off after 2-3 weeks, please contact our office (435) 734-2248.
• It will take the implant up to 3-6 months to fully fuse to the jawbone so be patient with the healing process.
